That'd make one a "benefactor" rather than a flipper.
Without flippers there'd be a lot more in landfills. Even vultures are necessary to mother nature.
The trick is to be open and honest. I used to have conversations with local guys who ran the alleys with pickups. Got a few amazing things.

Respect the bucket sub...RESPECT IT!
I watched this auction tick down too. In the end I just have too much on my plate to deal with 30 drivers right now.

for those that have time/a car or a truck,
this can be quite rewarding.
i've made literally thousands of dollars,
and acquired numerous 'works of art'.
(a marantz 10b was quite a surprise.)

There are people around here that do that the evening before trash day. For some reason, it seemed like it happened less this past year, Though.
Re: Whole buncha greenie 403A's
Back in the prime of ebay, i had 3 different flippers that used to bring me audio stuff exclusively. Two of them have since passed on, and the 3rd i just can't do business with anymore.
Thanks to them, and mainly one fellow in particular i got to enjoy both petting and profiting from things like RCA LC1A, NOS in boxes Stromberg Carlson RF-475's, Altec 639 birdcage microphones, a pair of Neumann/Telefunken U-47's with NOS service parts, a foot locker full of Nagra accessories including two 4.2's and the highly sought after synchronizer, enough rough ESS AMT's that i was the go to guy for Heil air motion tweeters for a while, and just too much other stuff to mention.
Needless to say, i have a quiet appreciation for flippers.
As i think about it, i guess i have a free pair of 210 cabinets and original horn sleds thanks to a flipper as well.
